Tools for Stenciling

(We use these for painting on wood signs and burlap fabric)

Most art stores will carry stencil brushes.
We buy ours at Michael's, JoAnne's or Wallmart.
Stencil brushes are specialized brushes. Designed for stenciling, they have a flat tip rather than rounded, and are used with a 'dabbing' motion to apply paint or ink to the open areas of a stencil. Regular brushes are not as effective as they are designed to brush paint on, which can push paint under the edge of a stencil, and the head is rounded which causes the bristles to spread out when 'dabbing'. So get a set of 5 stencil brushes for a few bucks, and have the right tool for the job.
Paint Rollers
(We use these for painting on fabric such as cotton T-shirts or walls)

We buy ours at Wal-Mart.
In order to achieve the cleanest edge possible, we recommend using a smooth / semi-smooth 4" foam paint roller. Before applying the paint, remove any excess paint from the roller and use light pressure when applying the paint.
The options for paint choice with stenciling are limitless.  We started out years ago using Folk Art brand paint, which you can buy at any hobby/craft store.  It holds up very well on fabric as well as wood/plaster.
We have also developed a wonderful relationship with many different Chalk Paint vendors.  Our stencils work great with every Chalk Paint company you can think of.  If you've never heard of Chalk Paint, get ready to have your mind blown.  It is the easiest, most gorgeous way to transform walls, furniture, fabric, cabinets, floors.  We've seen it all.  If you're looking to find out more about Chalk Paint, here are some links for you to browse.

Laser or Precision
We laser cut our stencils.
We cut only 7.5 mil opaque mylar - it is a heavier weight mylar that holds up well to repeated use, but also allows for extremely intricate design.
Actual Size of Stencils
We are asked this question often so I hope this clears up how we design our stencils.
The product size specified on each page is the actual size of the opaque mylar stencil.
Each design is a small degree smaller than the actual size.  Usually about 1/4 to 1/2 inch smaller.
We can change the design size most often when asked to do so as needed.  Costs vary - depending upon the size changes needed.
International Orders
We do ship internationally to Canada, Western Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.  We do not ship to South America as we have lost many packages in transit.  If you have a question about shipping to your country not listed, please email before placing your order.
We do not do returns or exchanges.
Each time an order is placed,
We cut the stencils just for you.
